Our Wild Health Workshop + Wild Food Dinner
Join us for an afternoon and evening with Jess Starwood to immerse yourself in learning invaluable information on how to return to our natural state of optimal health and thrive in our modern era.
Many of our modern day chronic illnesses are due to poor eating habits and stressful, indoor sedentary lifestyles. The farther we drift from our natural connection with nature, the more we are suffering from preventable illnesses and mental diseases. What's the solution? Return to our natural state of optimal health with insight from our ancestors and connecting with our local environment.
We will be discussing:
* The perils of convenience in our modern lives and how contemporary agriculture and farming is not the answer
* The damaging and inflammatory effects of refined oils, sugars and commonly used food additives and alternatives
* Wild foods and an introduction to foraging your own superfoods
* The benefits of fermentation and cultured foods on our gut and brain health
* Medicinal mushrooms for immunity and overall well being
* Food as medicine and herbs to supplement your diet
* Reducing stress and how to include adaptogens as part of your daily routine
* How to heal chronic illnesses with raw and plant based foods
* Healthy and nutritious desserts to satisfy your sweet tooth you can make at home
During the workshop, you will have the opportunity to make your own sauerkraut and a healthy dessert to take home using organic locally sourced ingredients.
Join us for dinner and drinks after the workshop! Drinks will include our locally brewed seasonal meads and herbal cocktails and beers. Dinner menu is centered around seasonal items and will be announced the week before the event, but will include a gourmet hand crafted and aged nut cheese with wild herbs and spices and a raw plant-based dessert. All foods served are of the highest quality plant-based, gluten-free, dairy-free, no sugar, local and organic ingredients. Please notify us ahead of time if you have an allergy.
